Sandarac Gum Resin, 1 ounce

Also known as gum juniper, Sandarac caomes from the northern African tree, Tetraclinis articulata. This resin has a fresh, clean smell mixed with a resinous scent. Sandarac, from the Assyrian words for "as bright as the moon,"  is thought to have a relaxing scent by many. A fixative, Sandarac isassociated with Saturn due to its association with juniper, with the Moon because of how it looks, and its scent is of Mercury, reflected in its two completely different aspects--fresh and light and heavy and dark.
