An introductory class regarding the history of American Hoodoo and how it has influenced the magick we practice her today and how Folk Magick from different cultures interwines with Hoodoo as well. We will also be defining the difference between Hoodoo and Voodoo as they are not the same and how the media influences the common knowledge that we have today. As a practice that has many different cultural sources, we will also be discussing why it's made such a huge comeback in our spiritual communities as well.
For March: Hoodoo and Folk Magick has a lot more influence than many think in our American Cultures. I say that plurally because American Hoodoo extends to all of the Americas. While hoodoo itself does not have any specific deities, Loa, or Orishas, it does however have a lot of versatile practices for the practitioner's religious beliefs. Conjure candles, are a common usage and widely used in our practice. I'm going to teach offerings and how to put together a 7 Day conjure candle. Also Gris Gris and their usage and some history. In this class I will be referencing some Orishas due to it being related to my practice. However, I will also be making references to other deities as well. For educational purposes.
