Single Class Drop In
Belly dance with a twist. Learn and practice the basics and beyond with Alana Mari. Each class consists of drills practice, finger cymbal practice, and learning combinations with a focus on good posture and mindful movement. This mixed-level fusion belly dance class imparts styling from contemporary dance forms, American Tribal Style® and belly dance (raqs sharqi). Open to all levels.

Beginner Class Monday Evenings:
Beginners can expect an exciting intro to the dance form and practice fun combinations, engare with torso isolations, fluid arm movements, footwork, learn to play ymbals and receive an intro to Middle Eastern rhythms. Complete beginners to dance should expect a challenge in a kind and supportive learning enviroment.
Intermediate Class Tuseday Evenings:
Dancers will practice tricky combinations and layering, more complex cymbal patterns, focus on performance skills and move beyond the basics of fusion styling and technique. All levels welcome though this class is at an intermediate/advanced level and not recommended for beginners.
Finger Cymbals/ Zills (or arrange with instructor to borrow a pair) - optional for complete beginners
Comfortable clothing that you can move in.
Barefoot or dance shoes. \
Optional items: hip scarf or belt to accent movements, notebook, mat or blanket for warm up, conditioning, and cool-down.

Cancellation Policy: If classes are canceled due to the teacher's discretion (illness/dangerous weather, less than 2 students per class etc.) you will be refunded for the class. If a student misses a class for any reason they may take a make-up class during the following 8-week session but no later. The teacher reserves the right to hire a qualified substitute teacher if the need arises.
Alana is a lifelong dancer and has always been dedicated to her creative pursuits- such as painting, sculpture, and music. In 2008, with a background in ballet, modern, and jazz, she began studying belly dance at the Cassandra School of Oriental Dance. Later, Tribal Fusion at Bohemian Underground Workshop, and has traveled throughout the U.S. to study with master teachers of American Tribal Style, tribal fusion and other fusion belly dance forms. She is ATS® General Skills Certified. Her primary teachers in Minneapolis have included master teacher Cassandra Shore, members of Jawaahir Dance company and Tribal Fusion dance artist Lesley Inman. Alana is dedicated to a continued and multi-faceted education in dance. http://alanamari.weebly.com
