*Date: Please note this class has been rescheduled from 2/24 to 3/9/24
This introductory class on Chaos Magic includes instruction in sigil making, which Genesis P-Orridge called "thee greatest weapon" in the Chaos Magician's arsenal. Chaos Magic was designed as magic without dogma, emphasizing techniques to work with the forces that underlie all forms of magic/k without any gods, spirits, or magical systems like Cabala. The class covers the roots of Chaos Magic in the work of artist and wizard Austin Osman Spare (1886-1956) and its emergence and development in the late 20th century. Although practice and mentorship are helpful, because Chaos Magic concentrates on concise technique, it is magic you can do NOW without long, arduous training (although practice and mentorship are helpful). You will leave with instructions for creating and activating sigils to enable you to continue your journey with this art. If there is enough interest, this will be the first class in a series to help you on your way to becoming a Chaos Magician.
BIO: D-Lux, the course instructor, is an initiate of two Chaos Magic orders, and has worked with Chaos Magic for many years. This is an improved and expanded version of the class he taught at the 2023 Babalon Rising festival.
