Tree of Qlipoth or the Kingdom of "shells" is the anti-structure to the Tree of Life.

It is thought to contain the debris left over from an influx of divine force too strong for the Sephiroth to withstand.

Each "Shell" or qlipha represents a negative or averse aspect of a particular sephira on the Tree of Life.

In the left hand path occult systems it is often identified with the Tree of Knowledge from the Garden of Eden.

By eating of its fruits man is given the promise of godhood by the Serpent, which is either Samael or Lilith, and the promise is fulfilled when the adept accomplishes the initiatory journey through the particular qlipothic levels and reaches Thaumiel (the top of three or anti-pole to Kether).
