A fascinating look at the relationship between these visionary spiritual thinkers. Orage left behind a brilliant career as editor of The New Age in 1922 to work with Gurdjieff in France. Nine years later, after successfully representing Gurdjieff in New York as a teacher, writer, and fundraiser, Orage returned to England, and resumed his career as founder and editor of The New English Weekly. The book also covers Orage's marriage to Jessie Dwight, a young American heiress, and his eventual split with Gurdjieff. While in New York, Orage taught his own psychological exercises, and stirred interest in the concept of the Social Credit.
