Baccharis genistelloides, carqueja, is a traditional medicine from Brazil, Peru Columbia, and Paraguay. It has been used to improve liver health, treat gallstones, diabetes, allergies, gout, and many other ailments.

Magickally, carqueja symbolizes fertility and strength. Use in a bath or a weak tea to bring these energies into a project.

Carqueja is not recommended for internal use by pregnant women, diabetics, or those with low blood pressure.
