Arabic Gum-Cut and Sifted-1 ounce
Traditionally a soothing remedy for inflammation, Arabic Gum (Acacia Senegal), is used as a liver tonic in Unani medicine. It has also been used to stop bleeding, help the lungs remove waste, and reduce fever.
It has been used to clarify liquids, make beads, stick and cone incense, and more.
This resin is steeped in the lore of Hebrew culture. The Arc of the Covenant and the sacred Tabernacle of ancient Hebrew culture may have been made of this wood. It has been used in ancient Hebrew atonement practices and is one legend has it that the branches from this tree made the crown of thorns worn by Jesus during his sentence. Going back further in time, this may be the burning bush that spoke to Moses and it was one of the nine materials in Nimrod's tower, the tower of Babel. Arabic Gum trees, Acacia, have also been grown in hedges to separate men's and women's areas in Essene communities. Looking at these legends there are a few themes that run through these legends. The separation of people from gods and the bringing together of people with their gods is a part of the history of this herb.
Clarifying relationships, establishing healthy boundaries, communicating with the gods, these are all ways that this resin can be burned for magickal use.
