Author:
Johnson, Terry
Rather than compile an exhaustive listing of England's pre-historic sites, the author focuses on a single representative county, his own. Choosing a county not boasting constructions of Stonehenge and Avebury fame illustrates that Neolithic peoples exercised their skills more prolifically, over a wider area, than we are generally led to believe, he writes in his Foreword. He encourages readers to seek out little-known sites themselves, in Essex and elsewhere.
