This book is an English translation of Book 23 of the Astrologia Gallica, in which Morin explains the theory of Solar and Lunar Returns and their relationship to the Natal Horoscope and its Primary Directions. By following the method that he sets forth, it is often possible to determine the exact month when the event signified by a radical Primary Direction will occur. And he gives instructions for using Transits to determine the exact day.
Morin was a physician who became the most renowned of all French astrologers. He was appointed Royal Mathematician to King Louis XIII and was summoned to be present at the birth of the royal heir, the future King Louis XIV.
The present volume contains the natal horoscopes of a number of 17th century celebrities followed by many Solar and Lunar Returns, each with a commentary and explanation of the important life events that they signified. These are followed by two chapters setting forth the Primary Directions of these Return charts, and finally two chapters giving general instructions for the interpretation of Solar and Lunar Returns.
