Everyday Kabbalah: A Practical Guide To Jewish Meditation, Healing, And Personal Growth

Author: Ribner, Melinda

The author, Ribner@MSN.com , December 31, 1998
Based on teaching Jewish meditation for 15 years
This book is based on teaching Jewish meditation for 15 years and using meditation as a part of treatment in my work as a pschotherapist and spiritual healer. I founded and direct The Jewish Meditation Circle.I have taught Jewish meditation at synagogues of all affiliation, at Jewish academic institutions, at national conferences, and new age centers like Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, and Elat Chayyim. My classes in Jewish meditation and meditative kabbalah in New York City have been attended by Jews of all affiliation- chassidic, orthodox, conservative, reform, renewal, as well as non- Jews. This is beauty and power of Jewish meditation - it brings tremendous healing to its participants and unity to the world. Can you imagine a world where people know how who they are, they experience themselves as pure and holy divine souls, they know what they are supposed to do in life; that is, they know that they were created to channel God's Light and love to the world and this is their greatest joy and pleasure. When more and more people pray and meditate in a pure way, there will be greater holiness and love in this world. Jewish meditation is powerful. The book draws on a variety of sources within the Jewish mystical tradition and integrates these practices with breathing, visualization, and transpersonal teachniques. This book guides you step-by- step on the path of self-discovery and transformation. It not only gives you the tools to reduce stress, and be more self-accepting and loving, it incresses your spiritual awareness.God becomes a real presence in your life.Additionally, there are special meditations to help people cope with the challenges we may have to face sometime in life like loss, illness, unemployment, low self-esteem.Individuals willing to start small meditation groups with friends and family are empowered to do so with this book and are given psycho- spiritual exercises to promote intimacy with others. This book has received the highest endorsement from Jewish teachers across the spectrum of Jewish life such as Rabbi Mordecai Tendler, Rabbi Simon Jacobson and Rabbi Zalman Schecter Shalomi. It was also endorsed by Dr. Larry Dossey who wrote wonderful books about the power of prayer. This book provides guidance on how to pray so your prayers have a greater liklihood of being answered.
