Timing of the millennium is confusing for a number of people. Although, technically, the 21st century does not begin until January 1, 2001, many people will celebrate the new century as of January 1, 2000. Please note that the year 2000 appears now in this second edition of the 21st century ephemeris as well as in the 20th century. We hope this will prove useful and satisfying for everyone. The American Ephemeris for the 21st Century is a noon ephemeris based on Ephemeris Time (E.T.). This differs from the earlier volume in this series, The American Ephemeris for the 20th Century which is based on Universal Time (U.T.).
